The outside rim of the bucket is 1 1/4 inches, while the inside is 7/8 inch. The sides are perpendicular. It is not oven safe. The tray included in this product is rigid, with a matte vinyl coating that makes it slip-resistant. The vinyl is of excellent quality, and it is heat resistant, so you can place hot items on it without any problems. However, this product has received mixed reviews.
