Horror Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of Dream Demon Blu-ray** In a delightful resurgence, Arrow Video brings back the forgotten 1980s horror gem, *Dream Demon*. Directed by Harley Cokeliss, this film combines a unique blend of psychological thrills and classic horror elements, resonating with fans who appreciate the depth and creativity often found in the genre. The narrative follows Diana Markham, beautifully portrayed by Jemma Redgrave, who finds herself besieged by increasingly disturbing nightmares leading up to her wedding. The film twists reality and fantasy as Diana's dreams begin to infiltrate the lives of those around her, including her new friend Jenny, creating a haunting shared experience. Audiences have responded positively to the film's intriguing premise and visual storytelling. Reviewers commend its impressive technical aspects, including special effects that surpass typical expectations for a film of its time. The cinematography and production design, coupled with strong performances, contribute to a cinematic experience that feels both fresh and nostalgic. The variety of bonus features included in the Blu-ray release—such as interviews, commentaries, and behind-the-scenes content—extend the value for collectors and enthusiasts, showcasing Arrow's commitment to preserving cinematic history. While *Dream Demon* may not qualify as a classic in the traditional sense, its captivating storyline, vivid nightmare sequences, and retro charm have found favor among horror aficionados eager to explore lesser-known films from the 80s. It's described as a hidden gem that can aptly fill the void for those seeking something unique within the horror genre. However, some critiques mention that while the film exhibits potential, it may fall short of delivering the level of excitement and shock that some viewers desire, placing it more as a collectible for genre completists than as a standout recommendation. In summary, *Dream Demon* has been revived for a new audience, and it appeals particularly to those who fancy a blend of dreamscape horror with a retro flair. Arrow Video's restoration efforts and thoughtful special features add to the allure of this title, making it a worthwhile addition to any horror fan's collection. **Pros and Cons:** **
